Purpose
Disability Support Services (DSS) at GW recognizes disability in the context of
diversity. We work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff across the campus
to foster a climate of universal academic excellence while promoting disability
culture and GW’s broader diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Services
DSS provides reasonable and appropriate academic accommodations to students
with disabilities. Reasonable accommodations are adjustments to policy, practice, and
programs that provide equal access to GW’s academic programs.
Once affiliated with DSS, students are paired with an Accessibility Associate who will
engage in an interactive process to determine disability-related needs while studying
at GW. DSS works with each student to ensure equitable access to their academic
program while maintaining program standards and requirements.
