Purpose
The Office of Emergency Management works with the GW community to lead GW in
mitigating, preparing for, responding to and recovering from all hazards.
Services
EMeRG (GW EMS): A student-run EMS group that serves the Foggy Bottom and
Mount Vernon campuses.
GW Alert: Email alerts are sent to all students to provide updates on emergency
situations. To receive text alerts, add your mobile number to the portal.
Guardian App: An additional layer of security to GW Alert. This mobile app provides
emergency notifications and allows you to message GW’s emergency service.
Campus Advisories: Provides incident-related and non-incident-related updates to
situations happening on and sometimes near campus.
Emergency Procedures: Actions to take if you find yourself in an emergency
situation when on campus.
GW Emergency Operations Plan: The plan describes how the university responds
to emergencies.
