Purpose
The Center for Career Services empowers students to confidently navigate their career
journey by leveraging monumental proximity to hands-on experience, industry exposure,
and employer connections. We support students at every stage of career development —
from exploring interests and gaining real-world experience to building a strong professional
network and launching impactful careers. Through personalized coaching, professional
development workshops, industry panels, career fairs, and networking events, we help
students connect their purpose to their career path, equipping them to make a meaningful
difference on a global scale.
Services
Career Coaching Appointments: Sign up for career coaching appointments through
Handshake.
Workshops and Panels: Workshops include resume and cover letter writing, interviewing and
job search strategies.
Career Events: In-person and virtual career fairs and industry-focused networking events are
held every semester, giving students the opportunity to connect directly with hiring employers.
Industry Newsletters: Sign up for online newsletters produced by the industry career coaches
and stay informed of the latest events, resources, internships and jobs in your field of interest.
Networking: Network with alumni willing to offer career advice or mentorship via GW Career
Connect.
International Opportunities: We have partnered with Interstride, a portal that helps
international and globally-minded students find jobs and internships.
FACT
More than $100,000 in student grants is awarded annually to students to
offset unpaid, high-quality internships related to academic and career goals.
