Purpose
Student Employment is an option for students to work in an hourly wage
part-time position. Positions include Federal Work-Study (FWS) positions with
an on-campus department or approved off-campus organizations as well
as Non-FWS positions with an on-campus department. Working in a student
employment position during your college years can help you gain experiences
and develop skills for your future career.
Services
The Student Employment and the Center for Career Services Career Learning
and Experience teams can help students through applying, interviewing and
getting hired into a position.

Each year approximately 4,200 student employees work in
200 departments in FWS and non-FWS positions
APPLY EARLY, APPLY A LOT
Apply to positions early, apply to multiple positions and use the
resources available to be successful in your position search. Most

positions are filled in the first month of the fall semester. First-year
students often wait and then have a challenging time finding a position.
