Purpose
GW Campus Recreation strives to create a space and environment for students
to move joyfully, explore different types of physical activity, enjoy constructive
competition opportunities for individuals of all abilities, and connect with others in
meaningful ways. Workout in the state-of-the-art Lerner Health and Wellness Center.
Most importantly, have fun and build sustainable and positive health habits that will
stay with you for a lifetime!
Services
Club Sports: Registered student organizations established by students who are
motivated by a common interest to participate in a specific sport.
Group Fitness: Each class is first-come, first-served for the first 30 pass holders. Class
types, days and times will vary.
Intramural Sports: Offers opportunities to meet new people with similar interests as well
as compete against each other in a fun, safe environment.
Lerner Health and Wellness Center: This 189,000-square-foot fitness center is located at
23rd and G streets and features a variety of cardio and strength training equipment, a
pool, a track, several courts and multipurpose rooms.
Personal Training: Personalized, one-on-one coaching is available in package options of
1, 3, 6 and 12 sessions. Session times will be dependent on client and trainer availability.
Outdoor Recreation: Outdoor Recreation includes the student organization TRAiLS who
provide weekly outdoor adventures in the DMV area. In addition, the Summit is a low
ropes course on the Mount Vernon campus offering fun and challenging opportunities
to team build with your peer group.
FACT
GW Club Sports has over 1,600 student athletes that represent the Buff
and Blue in competition annually.
